nekso Posted December 1, 2005 at 03:35 AM Report Posted December 1, 2005 at 03:35 AM Hi, I've came across a text with a bit that, I was led to believe, was chinese. This is part of the dialog between two people. It says: no nei.... 'bui sum' ar.... Now, I'd like to point out that I'm 100% ignorant in this matter so I don't know how silly is this question. I don't even know if it's possible to write chinese with the alphabet... Quote
tumujerome Posted December 1, 2005 at 04:13 AM Report Posted December 1, 2005 at 04:13 AM no nei.... 'bui sum' ar... parallel to what in Mandarin is 拿你 ... "背心” 啊 We could only make an educated guess sans context. Quote
dwood92688 Posted December 1, 2005 at 05:13 AM Report Posted December 1, 2005 at 05:13 AM There's no Mandarin (Putonghua) words that pronounced "no". 拿你 ... "背心” 啊 spoken in Cantonese would sound close. Quote
nekso Posted December 1, 2005 at 01:47 PM Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 at 01:47 PM Well, the context is also dificult to understand. Its part of a dialog where one figures out whats the true identity of the other, and he asks: "are you x?" Thats the reply he gets. This is probably from Hong Kong, I don't know if that helps. Quote
nekso Posted December 8, 2005 at 02:39 AM Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 at 02:39 AM Thanks for the help but can you tell me what does that mean? The characters by themselves don't help me that much... Quote
geraldc Posted December 8, 2005 at 03:07 AM Report Posted December 8, 2005 at 03:07 AM The problem is there's too little information to tell what it's about, it could be someone talking about a vest Quote
