I've just come across this in something I'm reading for work

Comrade Mao Zedong said: “Sometimes, the truth is with the minority.”

Anyone know what that was in the original Chinese?

i am not sure where that's from, but i would think you ought to read mao's 'report from xunwu寻乌调查'. this important work by mao was lost for some years, then planned to be added to mao selected works, and then disappeared for a couple more decades. it resurfaced as deng xiaoping was solidifying his power in the post mao period and was used as a basis of legitimacy for his campaign/slogan to "seek truth from facts". at the same time its publication in the early 80s was critical in repudiating certain aspects of the legacy of mao.
