The Mystery Tree

Recommended Posts

I don't normally like this kind of post, but this translation's really got me stumped (please excuse the pun).

It's a kind of tree called 黄桷树 (huangjueshu). Other names, according to wikipedia, are 黄葛树 (huanggerong), 大叶榕 (dayerong) and 黄桷榕 (huangjuerong).

If there are any bilingual botanists out there I'd be grateful for help translating the name of this mysterious tree into English.

A search on google seems to indicate the name as "Ficus lacor". I've never heard of this before. Perhaps the tree doesn't grow outside Asia.
