LFCLOUDS Posted December 17, 2005 at 12:23 PM Report Posted December 17, 2005 at 12:23 PM Ok.... I know I'm kind of cheating by not just putting this at the end of the previous post about banking...so sorry. I want to open a joint account between Beijing and Ireland.....does anyone know which banks might do this? Bank of China? I would presume its possible but I presumed alot of things about Chinese banks untill I actually used them. Communication between different branches of the same bank for example, is just one of the things that doesnt seem to happen here. Thanks folks. Oisin. Quote
smalldog Posted December 18, 2005 at 06:10 AM Report Posted December 18, 2005 at 06:10 AM No such thing, I'm afraid. You can use a Visa debit card at a Bank of China ATM in Beijing to withdraw money from your Irish bank account, or you can open a Euro account at a Chinese bank. What exactly are you trying to do? mi.g.c Posted December 23, 2005 at 03:45 AM Report Posted December 23, 2005 at 03:45 AM question about opening a Euro account in a local Chinese bank.. does that mean I put in the bank all the money I brought with me? Can I make international transfers there, if say, I don't have enough money to last my whole stay in China? Quote
stephanhodges Posted December 23, 2005 at 01:50 PM Report Posted December 23, 2005 at 01:50 PM I was just reading yesterday that Barcley's Bank is expanding very rapidly in China and that China is supposed to allow foreign banks to exchange Yuan starting in 2006. (I'm not clear if it starts in January or not). Quote
