roddy Posted December 18, 2005 at 10:53 AM Report Posted December 18, 2005 at 10:53 AM Got an email from someone telling me about their new Chinese dictionary software - it's here if anyone wants to check it out, and there's a (restricted) free demo download. Worthy of note is that there's a PocketPC version available as well as the desktop one, there are sound recordings for each character (ie, presumably not word), and that it claims to have study tools that allow you to syncronize desktop and mobile learning. It's not free, retails at $50. Doesn't specify what the dictionary is, but I think I can spot similarities between it and what's on iciba.net. Doesn't have pinyin in the E>C entries, which is kind of crippling, even if it does have pronuciation recordings. If anyone checks the demo out, let us know what it's like. Roddy EDIT: Apparently pinyin is available, it can be turned on and off with a toolbar button. Must have been turned off in the screenshots. And the pronunciation is for words, not just characters.
