What does "煨制" mean?

My teacher told me it meant "marinated", but I have my doubts. In my dictionary, "煨" is defined as "burning charcoal; baked in glowing embers", which doesn't seem to fit.

煨

I think klortho's question can be solved by the fifth meaning given above.

I don't know these two meanings, and this phrase: 煨干就湿. '就' should mean 'get near, approach' to my knowledge, but that doesnt quite make sense I am afraid.

My 语文 is not very good, so I need to also get help from 金山词霸，it says：

（11）终,尽 [end]。如:就命(去死;毕命)

I think in “煨干就湿”, here “就” is the eleventh meaning. You can imagine that it’s real hard and patient work to end the “wet” by only using “煨”, just like “抚育孩子的辛苦”.

Thanks, that helps! I guess my teacher was trying to tell me the meaning number (1) above, "stew". When I think about it, she was describing stewing meat over a low heat for a long time, and I think I suggested the word "marinate", and she said that was probably right. But, of course, that's wrong, because marinating doesn't involve any heat.
