confucius Posted January 14, 2004 at 11:13 AM Report Posted January 14, 2004 at 11:13 AM I'm intrigued somewhat by this blog phenomena and am wondering if it is possible to search for local blogs in China by city, let's say DANDONG for example. Cheers! Quote
roddy Posted January 14, 2004 at 03:38 PM Report Posted January 14, 2004 at 03:38 PM Blogcn.com lets you narrow it down to the provincial level, which is a start. I also put together a (very) brief list of Chinese language blogs here, some of which are written by members on here. Roddy Quote
confucius Posted January 17, 2004 at 08:29 PM Author Report Posted January 17, 2004 at 08:29 PM I found one Chinese teacher in Dandong. http://www.blogcn.com/user3/ddteacher/main.asp However there are 2 problems now. Most of the blogs listed under Liaoning (and all of the other provinces) have names which give no clue as to which city they reside in. In Liaoning there was only one who actually used the name of the city in his blog's name. All other blogs seem to use cute names that give no clue as to where they live. The other problem is that in order to establish communication with any of these blogs it is necessary to register first. I was not in the mood for registering today, so I will return later and complete the procedures. However I did get a glimpse of the Dandong teacher's blog and it does not appear very interesting. Maybe he knows other bloggers in Dandong, but I'm afraid I might have to sort through amusing blog names in Liaoning to find another Dandong blogger and that means possibly weeding through boring teenage blogs from Shenyang; a tedious task I don't hesitate to postpone.
