I just heard this on the radio (不得了).

Which NJStar translates as:

【bùdéliǎo】 desperately serious; disastrous; extremely; exceedingly.

Can anyone give example how this might be used in a sentence?

Thanks,

不得了啦! 隔壁著火了! (Good Lord! The next door is on fire!!)

similar phrases can be used in the above context:

糟糕了! (zao1 gao1 le)

完了(完了) ! (wan2 le wan2 le)

慘了! (can3 le)

Hope it helps!:)
