roddy Posted January 2, 2006 at 06:52 PM Report Posted January 2, 2006 at 06:52 PM Over the last few years I've seen more than one Chinese learning site steal content from another. However, sometimes when people do this, they leave themselves open to a certain amount of revenge. Visit this page and take a closer look at the images . . . Roddy Attaching screenshot, as no doubt they'll realise their mistake fairly soon . . . Quote

sui.generis Posted January 2, 2006 at 07:41 PM Report Posted January 2, 2006 at 07:41 PM That is hilarious. Quote
self-taught-mba Posted January 2, 2006 at 07:42 PM Report Posted January 2, 2006 at 07:42 PM Wow that is too funny. But to their defense(if I dare ) it is such a ubiquitous looking page that they probably thought it was open source/reference. Looking at it I would think it originally came from Microsoft. But I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and I guess they should have checked. Quote
roddy Posted January 3, 2006 at 01:49 AM Author Report Posted January 3, 2006 at 01:49 AM Even open source / reference material should be credited, and the fact that they were leeching the images off the original server is bad manners at the least - and as we've seen, leaves you open to a little bit of fun . . . Anyway, someone posted about it on their forum, and the original images are now back, with a credit to the originator, Fozza.com. However, there was still time to get this page cached. Watch the images patiently . . . I just happened to come across discussion of this on another forum and posted it on here as it was vaguely relevant to Chinese internet issues (nowhere near the worst example of plagiarism I've seen, of course, relatively minor). I know the owners of that site are on here occassionally, wonder if they've seen this yet . . . Roddy Quote
rockytriton Posted January 4, 2006 at 07:01 PM Report Posted January 4, 2006 at 07:01 PM that's great, a very good way to get back at people who steal your graphics. Quote
