'local' in simplified Chinese

Recommended Posts

Hi

My first post here.

I was wondering if there was an analog of 'local' in Chinese?

Would it either be place: 地方的

or locality: 当地的

Thanks

what about tu3, as in 土鸡 local chicken?

i'm assuming this is locally raised, not free-range.

土 means earth, so it usually carries the negative connotation of "just off the farm", etc. You wouldn't use it to describe something in an urban location, anyway.

他的口音太土!

Hi,

you can translate 'local' as 本土的 or 在地的 (we use that in Taiwan.). Or, as the others presented, all of them are ok.

Maybe you can present your sentence specifically, then it'll be accurate to choose the words or phrase in Chinese.

Hope it helps!:)
