PandaEyes Posted January 8, 2006 at 11:44 PM Report Posted January 8, 2006 at 11:44 PM Hi , does anyone know if there exist any gps based navigation systems with maps from Guangdong province (Zhuhai & Guangzhou would be perfect ). I am looking for such a system. The only additional requirement is that the system accepts english as the navigation language. I'm leaving for Zhuhai in 18 days and i'd like to do a bit exploring without depending too much on my girlfriend who lives & works there. Here are the technical specifications i'm looking for: - English as navigation language ( additional Mandarin or Cantonese is a benefit ) - preferably color based touch screen ( 4 inch or more ) - price not over 1500US$ ( negotionable ). - updable via data link ( USB? ) connection to a laptop. - the more accurate the better. Wishlist : - Detailed maps from Zhuhai & Guangzhou Any hints & tips ( url's & so ) on where i can buy such a system are very welcome. Thanks , Edwin Quote

thph2006 Posted October 6, 2007 at 10:28 PM Report Posted October 6, 2007 at 10:28 PM Hi, I'm also looking for GPS mapping and street navigation software for major Chinese cities. I know of several smartphone compatible products like TomTom which have street navigation for USA, Europe and Hong Kong but I haven't found any for the mainland China cities. I have a new HTC TYTN II smartphone with built-in GPS. The phone runs Windows Mobile 6 OS so here's what I think I need: - Must work on Windows Mobile based devices - Should not require an internet connection to work. (If it does require internet I guess I'll need to know about availability of mobile data services in China) - Should have an option to display street information in pinyin if possible. Anyone know of such a product? Thanks! Quote
