Ian_Lee Posted January 15, 2004 at 07:54 PM Report Posted January 15, 2004 at 07:54 PM Does anyone know that some of the popular movies you watch now are re-do of earlier version which had been very successful in the box office? For example, the popular "Chinese Ghost Story" series in '90s were a re-do of an earlier movie that was produced in the mid-60s. The "Dragon Inn" made in '90s was also a re-do of an earlier really classic "Dragon Inn" that was produced in early '70s. In my opinion, the earlier version was better made than the re-do version even though the latter are also good. Quote
PollyWaffle Posted January 16, 2004 at 04:29 AM Report Posted January 16, 2004 at 04:29 AM Wasn't 'Fist of legend' a remake of 'fist of fury' (or the chinese connection, depending which country you are from)? I like it, just enough different to be a decent remake. polly ps; Does anyone remember a martial arts dude named Bruce Li (or the 'formidable bruce li' on the video covers). Cashing in on the similarity of names, he made one of the most hilarious films i have ever seen. Car chases at 40 km/h, bright yellow flares, fight scenes that were edited to *enhance* his jumping abilities. (sorry gone OT again) Quote
