imron Posted January 16, 2006 at 10:41 PM Report Share Posted January 16, 2006 at 10:41 PM Just out of curiosity, is there a better place/way of notifying of mistakes?
xiaojiang216 Posted January 16, 2006 at 10:48 PM Report Share Posted January 16, 2006 at 10:48 PM Hey, I noticed the same thing on the Hanzi Toolbar I just downloaded! Is that where you found it, too? Is it right?
imron Posted January 17, 2006 at 12:30 AM Author Report Share Posted January 17, 2006 at 12:30 AM No, I'd just looked up this word the other day, and then by chance there was a posting in another thread that gave the pronunciation for this word as shì zhē. Having just looked up the word, I was pretty sure that the pronunciation was not right, so I checked Adsotrans. When that also gave the pronunciation as shì zhē, I went to my dictionaries (the Oxford Chinese-English dictionary, and also 现代汉语词典) to verify the pronunciation. Both dictionaries list the pronunciation of 侍者 as shìzhě. There is also no mention of the character 者 having the pronunciation zhē.
trevelyan Posted January 17, 2006 at 04:03 AM Report Share Posted January 17, 2006 at 04:03 AM Thanks for the correction... I've just made the change. In the future (if you like) you can always make corrections directly through the dictionary interface: http://www.adsotrans.com/adso/uniedit.pl Interface is for simplified Chinese only.
