It contains example sentences for every word in the HSK 1 and 2. I studied Chinese in a class room setting for about 3 years, when I got it, and while I was probally the most apt student in my classes, I was still not able to communicate well. I got the book a few months before I went to China, and went through it several times memorizing the sentences, and by the time I came to China, I was able to communicate (though somewhat labourously.) Now, I am in the process of studying the HSK 3 list, and I would like to go through and collect/compose sentences/dialogues for each of the vocabulary items. If anyone else here is at this particular level (alot of you seem more advanced) and would like to participate, then I think that such a project would be beneficial. The list I'm using is from http://hmarty.free.fr/hanzi/ , HSK 3 Words (not characters) Because going alphabetical gets boring... I have copied the list into a wordfile..and as I do a word, I will cut it out of the 1st wordfile, and copy it into a second wordfile, which will collect the complete terms. I will casually go through and select words of interest.
