xiaojiang216 Posted January 20, 2006 at 10:21 PM Report Posted January 20, 2006 at 10:21 PM 大家好! 您们吃健康的食物吗? 我唯一吃的食物就是健康的!(这个句子有错误吗?) Quote
Quest Posted January 20, 2006 at 11:22 PM Report Posted January 20, 2006 at 11:22 PM 我唯一吃的食物就是健康的!(这个句子有错误吗?) somewhat. it is understandable but not natural. You should use "只" or 都 我只吃健康的食物或食品,其它的我都不吃。 我吃的都是一些有营养而又健康的食品。 Also, while it is okay to use 健康食品, I personally feel "食物是健康的" sounds kinda odd in Chinese, because the food makes you 健康 but the food itself can't be 健康 because it's not alive.... I understand the implication, but I would use normally say 有营养 or 有益 instead of "食物是健康的"。 Quote
skylee Posted January 20, 2006 at 11:24 PM Report Posted January 20, 2006 at 11:24 PM Personally I seldom use 您. And I guess you wanted to say "我只吃健康的食物". PS - I guess what Quest said is about "wholesome" vs "healthy". Yeah 有益 seems more natural. Quote
skylee Posted January 20, 2006 at 11:30 PM Report Posted January 20, 2006 at 11:30 PM And what is 劣等食物? Did you mean junk food? Perhaps you meant 垃圾食物? Quote
Quest Posted January 20, 2006 at 11:38 PM Report Posted January 20, 2006 at 11:38 PM Also, 健康食品 sometimes implies 保健食品, and that's a special category of food that includes birds nest, chicken essence, ginseng etc.. Quote
semantic nuance Posted January 21, 2006 at 03:37 AM Report Posted January 21, 2006 at 03:37 AM 我唯一吃的食物就是健康的! 我只吃有益健康的食物.(conducive to health) 我只吃有營養的食物.(nutritious) Hope it helps! Quote
流 Posted January 22, 2006 at 02:23 AM Report Posted January 22, 2006 at 02:23 AM Wo chi jiang kang de shiwu... Yes, I eat pretty healthy... I rarely eat sugary foods, eat plenty of fruits/veggies, and don't drink soda... Canned food... 可是, "我只喫健康的食物" does not apply to be. Every once in awhile, I'll stray away from my usually disciplined diet. BTW, what is the difference between 只 and 唯? Quote
Sophia_Shang Posted January 31, 2006 at 04:48 AM Report Posted January 31, 2006 at 04:48 AM “您”只能用于单数,如果要用复数形式,还得说“你们”。 Quote
HashiriKata Posted January 31, 2006 at 01:52 PM Report Posted January 31, 2006 at 01:52 PM BTW, what is the difference between 只 and 唯?It's not just 唯 but should be 唯一 (or 惟一), meaning "only".只 also means "only" but often modifies a verb (只有你) while 惟一 typically modifies a noun (唯一的朋友). Quote
amego Posted January 31, 2006 at 04:14 PM Report Posted January 31, 2006 at 04:14 PM It's not just 唯 but should be 唯一 (or 惟一), meaning "only".只 also means "only" but often modifies a verb (只有你) while 惟一 typically modifies a noun (唯一的朋友). 惟有 and 只有 are the same, only 惟有 is more formal Quote
semantic nuance Posted January 31, 2006 at 04:17 PM Report Posted January 31, 2006 at 04:17 PM It's not just 唯 but should be 唯一 (or 惟一), meaning "only".只 also means "only" but often modifies a verb (只有你) while 惟一 typically modifies a noun (唯一的朋友). It's not necessarily so. You can also use 唯有 to mean "only". It can modify verb as well. For example: 唯有你支持我 is the same as 只有你支持我. 唯一 can also be used as an adverb to modify the verb or the whole sentence. For example: 唯一要注意的是食物的衛生. Hope it helps! Quote
HashiriKata Posted February 1, 2006 at 08:02 AM Report Posted February 1, 2006 at 08:02 AM It's not necessarily so.True , and that is why you should see words such as "often", "typically" in my replies (and I don't believe in focussing on the untypical when first introducing something to someone. It's unhelpful). Quote
xiaocai Posted February 1, 2006 at 08:42 AM Report Posted February 1, 2006 at 08:42 AM But I think the examples given by semantic nuance are also very "typical". Quote
