kimberlyandkeith Posted January 20, 2006 at 10:22 PM Report Posted January 20, 2006 at 10:22 PM This Texan girl is getting scared about the reality of a "real" winter after 5 years in Texas! It is 74 here today! LOL! Soooo, tell it to me straight. Do I need to buy snow boots for next winter in Dalian? And if I need them, do I need to buy them here? I wear a 9 in women's shoes. My husband wears a 10.5. Kimberly Quote
magores Posted January 21, 2006 at 12:16 PM Report Posted January 21, 2006 at 12:16 PM I wear an 11.5 in US size. This works out to 47 in European size. And, ? in Chinese size. Every store you see (including the Walmart I went to, and two Carrefours) sells a maximum of Euro size 44. Euro 44 is same as US size 9 I think. The sporting goods place under the Carrefour did have Nike basketball shoes for 1000+ RMB, but I wasn't about to pay that much. I just needed shoes to wear inside school. (We don't wear the same shoes inside and out at our school.) After some looking around, and asking around, I located the Da Kang shoe market (near Tao Ran, and S Beijing Train Station). Finally found a decent pair of tennis shoes in the price range I was willing to pay for (100 RMB). So... In a round about way, I guess what I'm saying is... Your husband should bring what he needs, or be prepared to have to search. I don't know anything about womens sizes, so I can't help with that. Quote
Lugubert Posted January 22, 2006 at 12:29 AM Report Posted January 22, 2006 at 12:29 AM kimberlyandkeith: For snow, try this one. Every store you see (including the Walmart I went to, and two Carrefours) sells a maximum of Euro size 44. Thanks for the warning. But I'm not surprised. I (11=46) am preparing for my first China visit. I had problems finding my shoe size even in England. Quote
