td36285n Posted January 22, 2006 at 12:46 AM Report Share Posted January 22, 2006 at 12:46 AM For those who have been to Yunnan Normal University, are you aware of a recreational facility, containing weight-lifting and cardio machines, on campus? mr.stinky Posted January 22, 2006 at 08:10 AM Report Share Posted January 22, 2006 at 08:10 AM there is a very nice track with a new spongy surface at the school. open 7 days per week. behind the track, wedged in with some student housing, are some other recreational rooms. i did notice some free weights in one of them. i think they have a pool in there somewhere as well. td36285n Posted January 23, 2006 at 05:22 PM Author Report Share Posted January 23, 2006 at 05:22 PM Thanks, Mr. Stinky. Nice to know that they have a modern track, instead of the concrete track they have at some of the other universities.
mr.stinky Posted January 24, 2006 at 02:32 AM Report Share Posted January 24, 2006 at 02:32 AM ynnu track is open to the public m-f 6:30-8:30, 5:30-8pm, st-su 6:30-9:00,5:10-8pm closed (apparently reserved for school class/club use) m-f 8:00-12:00, 2:20-5:05pm. that's what the sign says anyway, at least what i can read. i guess they assume noone would want to run during lunch. is it reserved 9-5 on weekends? i dunno. there is a fence surrounding the track, padlocked off hours. there are also tracks at ynu and the minorities uni that i haven't been to. i use the track at kmust, closer to my apartment, but not as nice. it's a basic cinder track with poor drainage. water pools for a couple days after heavy rains. this one, however, seems to be open at all hours. there is no padlocked gate, and is the location of choice for college kids to go 'snogging.'
