AkumAPRIME Posted January 23, 2006 at 01:30 AM Report Share Posted January 23, 2006 at 01:30 AM Hey. 1st off, I HAVE the east asian winxp font pack installed. I Can see all my chinese and taiwanese friends nicks on MSN just fine. The problem is as follows: We are tryng to watch 40 year old virgin with chinese subs. I grabbed chinese subs, but they appeared as ascii code gibberish, not chinese characters. I openned up the .srt file and the subs are all crazy. The subs are in something called Big5. I googled the hell out of big5, but couldn't find a font or install pack. any help would be appreciated, thank you, ap
smalltownfart Posted January 23, 2006 at 03:18 AM Report Share Posted January 23, 2006 at 03:18 AM Try going to "Regional and Language Options" in Control Panel In the Advanced Tab, change "Language for non-Unicode Programs" to Chinese (Taiwan) or (Hongkong) Click on OK, you will need to reboot your machine. But I don't remember seeing this problem before, can you post the SRT file here? I can try to see if I have the same problem on my PC.
