xiaojiang216 Posted January 23, 2006 at 03:47 AM Report Posted January 23, 2006 at 03:47 AM 大家好! A neighbor of mine found something written on the bottom of a box. I examined it, and it was indeed Chinese. However, it was written very fast... This is called 草书, correct? How can this be used by means of communication? Is it more for use for oneself? For leaving a note for oneself, for example? I can see how that would work, but how can someone read this? This is what I have deciphered: Can anyone decipher more of it? Thank you very much! Quote
Quest Posted January 23, 2006 at 04:05 AM Report Posted January 23, 2006 at 04:05 AM This is what I can gather: Quote
lizheng Posted January 23, 2006 at 04:17 AM Report Posted January 23, 2006 at 04:17 AM I am not sure if it is right... Probably the person who wrote this tried to encourage somebody else.. Quote

JonasL Posted January 24, 2006 at 05:53 PM Report Posted January 24, 2006 at 05:53 PM how about this: Quote
peterwelm Posted January 25, 2006 at 01:39 AM Report Posted January 25, 2006 at 01:39 AM Quest's result is right. Sometime, we would say 人生如梦,which is orignal from 苏轼的《念奴娇·赤壁怀古》: 大江东去,浪淘尽,千古风流人物。 Quote
aimering Posted January 30, 2006 at 09:59 AM Report Posted January 30, 2006 at 09:59 AM well, I have to say that his poor handwriting doesn't come across easily.... Quote
Tiankong Posted February 24, 2006 at 10:20 PM Report Posted February 24, 2006 at 10:20 PM I'm pretty sure it's I asked my girlfriend. She speaks fluent Mandarin and has a Chinese degree in Beijing University so it's pretty reliable. Quote
windflower Posted February 28, 2006 at 09:47 AM Report Posted February 28, 2006 at 09:47 AM I'm very sure the first sentence shall be "人生如战场", hehe... Quote
