Sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find it in my search.

I am still not absolutely comfortable with the usage of 一点儿 and 有点儿。

What is the general concensus regarding the preferential use of one over the other?

Thanks,

这东西一点儿不便宜 means something isn't cheap, maybe even a little expensive.

这东西有点儿贵 means something isn't cheap, but not expensive too much.

只有一点儿 means there is a little/a few in amount

有点儿 means the degree of something that you want to describe is small or a little
