zhwj Posted February 6, 2006 at 04:11 PM Report Posted February 6, 2006 at 04:11 PM I was looking for good music to fill up my MP3 player, and I came across this list of the top 100 albums in Taiwan between 1975 and 1993 (here's someone's annotations of that list). It's a bit old, but I thought it'd be interesting to post. I can't really speak to the effect the albums had at the time - how they were turning points or whatnot - but I do agree that most of the top ten (I've listened to eight of them) are powerful albums. It's interesting how the same producers turn up time and again. 李寿全 is a brilliant man - what has he been up to lately? Then there's this: an annotated list of 100 classic pop songs - time frame extends a bit later, probably by some other author. The top of the list has similarities to the album list. I'm amazed at how many I've run across without knowing it - background music, radio, and so on - in searching out songs whose names I don't recognize, I stumble across familiar melodies. I'm wondering whether anyone's done something like this for the mainland (it's represented by a few entries on both lists) or Hong Kong (likewise), or for other time periods - what's "essential listening" that's not represented in these lists?. rose~ Posted May 5, 2006 at 06:30 AM Report Posted May 5, 2006 at 06:30 AM There are two lists from sougou.com that are not bad, the first is [pop=classic/jīngdiǎn]經典[/pop][pop=old/lǎo]老[/pop][pop=song/gē]歌[/pop] here. Also there is one for rock songs here. Quote
