Secure Hostels in Beijing

Hi all,

My friend and I will be heading from Guizhou to Beijing in a couple of days.

I have a list of hostels to stay in upon arrival but we will be bringing quite allot of expensive gear with us so I'm worried about security.

I am moving there and we are both gadget nuts so we will be bringing all manner of needlessly expensive gadgets and gizmo's like cameras(bout a grands worth),a laptop, PSP's, portable dvd player, Iriver, hard drive(which I DO NOT want to lose) and a kitchen sink.

Anyone know of hostels with a reliable storage option or am I stuck with hotels?

Now, I know that theift in Chinese hostels isnt the most common thing in the world (or I think so anyway), but I'd rather not take that chance.

I remember the hostel at the Far East had lockers in the rooms. Not even sure if you'd fit that much stuff in though.

Places like the Downtown Backpackers (which is a good place to stay anyway) have single / double rooms at very reasonable rates. That's probably what I'd do.
