onebir Posted February 7, 2006 at 01:12 PM Report Posted February 7, 2006 at 01:12 PM Just wondering if anyone's done this? Do you get charged duty etc? And more importantly, do the books actually arrive? Quote
roddy Posted February 7, 2006 at 01:14 PM Report Posted February 7, 2006 at 01:14 PM Only ordered stuff a couple of times, but it's got here with no problem. If you get standard parcels ok, an Amazon package should be fine. Quote
prolyfik Posted February 9, 2006 at 05:18 AM Report Posted February 9, 2006 at 05:18 AM I think the issue about duty is an important one. If you're dealing with books you're very likely OK, but if you're talking electronics or other types of items that are more closely scrutinized then I've heard stories of people having to turn away deliveries (i.e. laptop computers that were fedex'd to China) because of duties being added on when the items crossed over the border. kaisatsu Posted February 9, 2006 at 09:14 AM Report Posted February 9, 2006 at 09:14 AM I've heard that Amazon will only ship books, movies, and music to China anyway. I'm not sure if that's true, though. I haven't tried ordering anything yet. Quote
