tianjinpete Posted February 10, 2006 at 11:58 PM Report Posted February 10, 2006 at 11:58 PM My 现代汉语词典 gives 捎带 as meaning "by the way" in sentences such as 你要的东西我捎带脚儿买来了 and while I suppose in this context it means "along the way" or "on the way" (here or there), 捎带 can also mean "incidentially" or "in passing" -- though I've never actually heard it used like that ... 顺便说一下儿 might also work Quote

I don't think it has the same indication of a change of subject though, it just marks additional information which may or may not be related to what has gone before. Roddy Quote
