Why do people feel shocked or puzzled to see that phrase? If you break up with someone, either s/he doesn't love you anymore, or vice versa, it should be a happy thing. The first one is from 坐而言不如起而行, and I've never heard of 坐言起行. The English equivalent of 坐而言不如起而行 is 'action speakers louder than words.'. As for the second sentence, you'll have to give us the context to tell you what it means. Its literal meaning is someone will come often to step?踩cai3 is 'to step, to trample'. Hope it helps! Quote
