yonitabonita Posted February 25, 2006 at 05:17 PM Report Posted February 25, 2006 at 05:17 PM Hi to Beijing experts I've been offered a bedroom in a three bedroom house for 2200rmb. It has an ensuite, is spanky new, near the universities, and pretty big. So it's pretty nice, but is the price right? What's the going rate for a room in a modern apartment complex near the university ? Or a single br studio? Also, I've enrolled to study at the BLCU, but today someone told me that it was a much better deal to study at a private language school. I'm here in Beijing with the sole purpose of Mandarin. I don't need another degree so I don't need a reputable institution. So what are your thoughts? anyone studied at the private language schools? any recommendations? thanks! Quote
roddy Posted February 25, 2006 at 06:38 PM Report Posted February 25, 2006 at 06:38 PM I think the price sounds ok, if it is a very nice place. You make it sound like it is, so I'd say go for it. For comparison, you could get a basic one-bed place for that price, or maybe a nice studio. For private language schools, take a look through the Studying in Beijing forum on here, particularly the sticky, and do a search for 'Diqiucun', which is one of the main private schools. Quote
Pengyou Posted March 2, 2006 at 07:26 AM Report Posted March 2, 2006 at 07:26 AM As usual...you don't give us any background on your language level. When I attended Diqiucun - 3 years ago - it was difficult if did not already have a base of knowledge. More details please! Quote
