The recording is .amr format. roddy Posted February 26, 2006 at 03:52 AM Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 03:52 AM were you listening to the correct attachment, I had the wrong one there for a while. You might want to try again. Edit: And how did you manage to answer four questions on the basis of the incorrect audio Quote
Ferno Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:03 AM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:03 AM yeah i listened to the wrong one :o in that case: c, b, a, c Quote
L-F-J Posted February 26, 2006 at 05:03 AM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 05:03 AM Fast speaking. I have to get used to that. But I came up with the same answers and Ferno's last post. Probably because I knew the questions so I knew what to listen for but if I didn't know the questions before hand and couldn't listen back, then I'd probably miss the second question. Quote
HashiriKata Posted February 26, 2006 at 08:08 AM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 08:08 AM And how did you manage to answer four questions on the basis of the incorrect audio I know many people can do this, and they even answer correctly Quote
Ferno Posted February 26, 2006 at 08:16 AM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 08:16 AM And how did you manage to answer four questions on the basis of the incorrect audio 1. c - because you gave it away 2. b - because I thought I heard "chopsticks" and chopsticks can be used to pick up little pieces 3. c - because I didn't hear "kebab" 4. b - because it sounded like a takeaway place :o Quote
L-F-J Posted February 26, 2006 at 08:18 AM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 08:18 AM Nevermind, you were responding to how you got your answers based on the incorrect file... irrelevant post. lol Quote
roddy Posted February 26, 2006 at 12:22 PM Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 12:22 PM in that case: c, b, a, c I came up with the same answers 75%. Listen again Quote

roddy Posted February 26, 2006 at 02:34 PM Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 02:34 PM All I'll say is that so far nobody has got all 4 questions correct. Oh, and that I'm a sneaky %$@#% I would have done a transcript, but my laptop's sound chipset has decided to take an extended holiday and I'm not going to faff around typing with one hand while repeatedly listening to the audio on my mobile. Would be cool if someone can do one though. Quote
conrad Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:19 PM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:19 PM the third question is misleading.. Quote
randall_flagg Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:41 PM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:41 PM ccac when i said that she says "10" earlier, i also meant to say: except for that, i have what everybody else has. so my order is ccac. hope its right. gosh, what excitement! Quote
semantic nuance Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:50 PM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:50 PM The transcript: 再見! ps1//don't know how to type eh in chinese. As for pinyin, because i don't know the words for its resturant name and place. They can be various words with the same pronunciation. ps2//I've redrafted it, wondering if I still missed something there. Hope it helps! Quote
roddy Posted February 26, 2006 at 06:10 PM Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 06:10 PM the third question is misleading.. At last, someone takes the time to read the questions carefully instead of just trying to get the answers ccac Not even in Beijing do they deliberately order mouldy food . . . Here's a quick follow up. What has not been delivered a) the accounts B) chopsticks c) a scooter Recording.amr Quote
roddy Posted February 26, 2006 at 06:22 PM Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 06:22 PM CBCC And we have a winner! (Although I suspect Conrad was there first) BTW, Semantic's transcript is good but there's room for improvement. Anyone want to redraft it? Pictures of the actual food here and here Quote
randall_flagg Posted February 26, 2006 at 07:00 PM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 07:00 PM Whoops! Don't know what happened there. Why would I say moldy? I guess my only excuse is that the questions were on a differnt page and I was too darn lazy too flip the pages and tried to do it from memory. Nope, it ain't moldy. Quote
