amandagmu Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:07 PM Report Posted February 26, 2006 at 04:07 PM Hey everybody, I'm having second thoughts about going back to BLCU for a summer program. Well, not entirely, but I'd like to see what else is out there first... has anyone attended a summer program in Dalian, Guilin, or somewhere in Guangxi? How about Qingdao? I'm thinking I want to go somewhere to get some standard Chinese language classes (3-4 hours / day x 5 times a week with a teacher in a formal university setting) but have a non-huge-city experience. Basically, I've heard these places are the least air-polluted in China. Since I love to run and explore the outdoors, several people have recommended I look at these places and after some internet research I think they may be right. Anyone have website links and/or e-mail addresses/phone numbers of schools with programs? Although I'd prefer a longer summer stay (6-8 weeks), another possibility would be for me to go to a shorter summer program somewhere and then head to BLCU for the first or last 4 weeks (June 20-July 20, or August) before coming back home, so all in all I'd still get a whole summer of the language. Thanks! Amanda Quote
mrtoga Posted March 13, 2006 at 05:48 PM Report Posted March 13, 2006 at 05:48 PM Here is a page that has details about summer programs in Dalian, as well as some other places. http://www.hyccchina.com/english/araq/Universitycourses/DUTcourse1.htm Lived there for a while last year and could not recommend it more highly. Was not studying there but heard that Ligong Daxue is better than DUFL..... Quote
