Wallet peeking

Recommended Posts

has anyone noticed that when you pay for things in beijing, the locals have a real good peek at the contents of your wallet? not covertly, but like bend their head across to yours to look while you search for the right notes?

or is it just me?

is it because locals tend not to carry wallets & just cash in a pocket so they're curious about wallets?

yeah that always used to annoy me how the locals would have a good look to see how much money was in my wallet - they do it everywhere, but i found it especially in Tian jin

dude, it's just you, and your laowainess.

they look in your wallet, in your shopping cart, in your bookbags, and over your shoulder

when you're in a cafe with your tutor.

at least they have the decency not to stare at your mr.happy in the toilet.

that was a joke. haha.

given that one should do what the locals do, then does that mean i can look down the front of women's tops? because some girl down the gym was staring at my arse & i got really paranoid that i had split my running lycra & my joboxers were showing!!

why not dig out your left-over passport photos.

whenever you find yourself being stared at, whip out a photo & a shapie, and politely give the person a signed photo for his mantlepiece.

dude, that's genius. I've got to try that sometime.

to Mr. Stinky:

I don't know about you bro, but every time I've been to Kundu and go to take a leak, anyone who' s next to me takes a good peek at the elusive American White Dragon. It was unsettling at first :-? , but now it's almost humorous. This happens in the public swimming pools as well - there's one in Kunming with the shower room and I swear I felt like I came from another planet the way people stared.

tim, dude, you just have to play along. buy yourself some really weird glow-in-the-dark

french tickler with rhinestones and sequins. give 'em something really special to stare

at. if it plays 'love me tender' while you're whizzing, even better.
