So.. what are you up to today?

In English, after initially giving someone the "how are you", "what's up", etc. line, there are a few lines that we use to open up casual conversation, such as "What have you been up to, what's going on today" when there isn't necessarily something specific to talk about.

What would be some examples of sentences like this in Chinese? I tried to say "你現在做什麼?" once but I think that was construed as "what do you do for a job right now?"

You can say

你最近过得怎样 How have you been lately/How are you doing

or 你最近忙什么 lit. What are you busy with, but the person doesn't necessarily have to be busy, it just means What have you been doing, what have you been up to.

1.) 你最近过得怎么样?

2.) 你最近怎么样?

3.) 你最近忙些什么?

我不知道第三是不是对的, 可是我听说过.
