I am required to take a study abroad for my degree, and I am looking at mainland China as the most likely destination for my travels. I want to study the language, and at the end of this school year I'll have finished one year of Beijing-standard Mandarin. I am interested in your opinions on which program is best for me. Here is what I would like to take into account:

- I plan on finishing my second year of Chinese at my school before I study abroad

- I would prefer to learn in Beijing, or a city that speaks with the same or a similar dialect

- I have heard a little about the IUP and CET programs and I am very interested in them, especially the Harbin CET program

- I need this to count for credit at my home school, so therefore this program has to be able to give me a transcript from a University, it doesn't matter whether the university is American or Chinese; I need credits for this, but I am personally more interested in learning as much as possible.

I am very new to this site, and I haven't looked through all the backlogs of posts, so if my post is something that has been discussed recently please show me where I can look. Thanks!
