chinese film on dvd - past year & first quater this year

well, this doesn't quite fit into roddy's thread about the top films of 2003, but there is some overlap. anyway...

following, in list form, is a look back at the past year of some (mostly) recent chinese films released (and soon to be released) on dvd (some may have been released before last year in china, but only became available through etailers or your local chinatown shop in the past year). many of these are worthy of a spin in your dvd player (film title - director):

(perhaps i should start a thread about all the important and interesting chinese films that need be released on dvd.)

please add other chinese (in any chinese dialect) films released on dvd in the past year or soon to be released which should be included among the stuff we should be spinning in our dvd players. or, comment on the films i have listed. or, rant about my bias toward mainland chinese films and tell us about chinese films from hk, taiwan, or elsewhere that should take a spin in our dvd players. thanks
