A friend of mine has a name that in his language means "mighty warrior". I wonder what would be the best way to translate that into something that sounds like a name or nickname in Chinese. :help

how about 伟雄 wei3 xiong2?

伟大 的伟 and

英雄 的雄

actually a mixture of my boyfriend's and my brother's names :mrgreen:

That's hilarious. The first Chinese name given to me was 俊雄 and my friend's was 伟杰. You make a mixture and come out with 伟雄,if you mix it the other way you come out with 俊杰 as in 林俊杰 ! :D

ABSOLUTELY!!! Countless people here are called 伟- or -伟 the female equivalent is 玮-, pronounced the same. I'm one of the them. My name is 伟新:mrgreen: My cousins: 伟健,伟扬,伟斌
