雅各 Posted March 7, 2006 at 05:37 AM Report Posted March 7, 2006 at 05:37 AM Hi, I greatly enjoyed the article recently discussed in another thread "Why is Chinese so damn hard?", which was originally from the journal "Sino Platonic". I was wondering whether any more articles from this journal are available for download (PDF?) somewhere online. I've seen it for sale, but that may just be hardcopy. Personally: I can access libraries in Melbourne (Australia), Wuhan or Singapore, so if it's available at any of these locations I'd also greatly appreciate if someone could let me know which library/university it/they can be accessed at. Thanks, 雅各 Quote
Taibei Posted April 20, 2006 at 07:22 AM Report Posted April 20, 2006 at 07:22 AM The Web site of Sino-Platonic Papers has excerpts from most issues. Although at present most of these excerpts are brief, others are quite long. Among those with lengthy excerpts are: Implications of the Soviet Dungan Script for Chinese Language Reform (one of my favorites) The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan and the Advocacy of Local Autonomy The Complete Ci-poems of Li Qingzhao: A New English Translation Wheeled Vehicles in the Chinese Bronze Age (c. 2000-741 b.c.) Notes on the Anau Inscription Influences tokhariennes sur la mythologie chinoise And, of course, the ever-popular Why Chinese Is So Damn Hard. Eventually, all issues of SPP will be available online. Keep watching the SPP site or Pinyin News for updates on this. Quote
zhwj Posted April 20, 2006 at 08:35 AM Report Posted April 20, 2006 at 08:35 AM I'm eagerly awaiting the promised annotated list. I'm interested to see an exceprt, abstract, or even a description of Mair's Conversion Tables for the Three-Volume Edition of the Hanyu Da Cidian - the full text of which costs around 1/3 of the dictionary itself - I might get it if I knew what it was, first. Taibei Posted October 27, 2011 at 07:16 AM Report Posted October 27, 2011 at 07:16 AM Update: more than three-quarters of the 215 wide-ranging issues to date of Sino-Platonic Papers are available in full online (for free). 1 Quote
