skylee Posted March 7, 2006 at 04:00 PM Report Posted March 7, 2006 at 04:00 PM I've just listened to this old song again on the website of 香港仔公國 (the Dukedom of Aberdeen) and I think you guys and girls might also be interested (well at least I hope Liyuanxi would like it). Oh btw the song is not in Cantonese. Listen Quote
zhwj Posted March 7, 2006 at 04:30 PM Report Posted March 7, 2006 at 04:30 PM I've heard that this song made an impression on newly-arrived migrant workers especially. There's also 北京又一夜, in which 刘佳慧 sings most of the song. Quote
amego Posted March 7, 2006 at 06:10 PM Report Posted March 7, 2006 at 06:10 PM Hey!!! This song grew up with me, hahah Last time when I was in primary 3 , when I was in afternoon session, I used to go my Ah Ma house in the morning, then I'll watch cartoon till around 10 or 10.30 (can't remember), than when the cartoon ends, which is also the time for me to go bathe, this One Nite in Beijing MTV will be broadcast, nomatter rain or shine, hahah so I listened and listened and listened and even now 10 yrs later, this song is still I'm my head Ok I like this unique song, its the only opera-type song that I know of 信乐团 also sang this song. Lu Posted March 9, 2006 at 06:56 PM Report Posted March 9, 2006 at 06:56 PM I only knew the Shin (Taiwan band) version. Heard it on Channel V, and was so happy to hear something so different from the usual 'wo ai ni wo xiang ni' stuff that I bought their CD. Rest of it sounded very different though. (Now listerning to the version in the post, actually I think Shin sings it better.) And Wan'an, Beijing I only know in the Baojiajie 43 hao version, and I don't think any version can possibly be better. Quote

creamyhorror Posted August 27, 2010 at 03:35 PM Report Posted August 27, 2010 at 03:35 PM I've been listening to the Shin cover of this song, and it's really good. Then I came across the rendition of a guy who performs in a Shanghai bar: He's called 平安, and he's fantastic. I have to go watch him perform if I go to Shanghai (though from googling it seems the bar may have stopped operating). Quote
