I'm going to China this year (dang it!) and I don't want to start from zero Chinese knowledge, so I've started studying! As part of my self-infliceted torture program, I'm going to be writting a daily (or nearly daily) journal. I'll put my enteries in this thread. Please feel free to point out mistakes! Or use my funny grammar patterns for discussion. I'll give my intended direct translation underneath. Here we go! 今年我的朋友很多打算婚姻。 This year many of my friends plan to get married. 我的美国的朋友7月婚姻。 My american friend gets married in July. 我的工作的朋友2人5月婚姻。 2 of my work friends get married in may. 我的女朋友的朋友还是7月婚姻! My girlfriends friend is ALSO getting married in July! 我的天! 他们是很年轻的。 Oh my God! They're all so young! 我想婚姻是我30岁。 I want to get married when I'm 30. 我每天早起学中文! I'm going to wake up early every day and study Chinese! Questions I wasn't able to get 'woman' 'nu' 女 to input correctly. I had to rever to my Japanese input system. I tried typing "nu" and converting, but I only got 怒! Which looks like 'anger' if it's the same meaning as Japanese... How do you get 女 in Chinese input? How would I say, "They're all younger than me!"? Did I do that "I will marry WHEN I'm 30" thing right? I'm not sure how to say "WHEN" in Chinese yet. Thanks! Quote

I think you'd better distinguish the meanings of the words "结婚"and"婚姻＂.the former one is a verb and the later is a noun 2."When" in chinese is "在什么时候"or"当．．．时候" e.g. "when I was young" to be＂在我小时侯＂ "when I get up in the morning" to be "当我早上起床时＂ Quote

It'd be safer to let Chinese native speakers correct your sentences for you, so I'd mention just a small point: you used 婚姻 in many of your sentences for "to get marry" but 婚姻 is a noun. The verb for "to marry/to get married" is 结婚. Quote
