Lena Posted March 13, 2006 at 10:31 PM Report Posted March 13, 2006 at 10:31 PM Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are any physiotherapists in Beijing? I have tendonitis in my wrists and all of this hanzi is really killing them. If so, do you know how much it'll cost? thanks for your help Quote
elina Posted March 14, 2006 at 01:22 AM Report Posted March 14, 2006 at 01:22 AM I think you can find someone decent doctors here: http://www.bjzhongyi.com/expert.html#guan But I do not know the cost. I do not believe any clinics along the streets. Quote
onebir Posted March 14, 2006 at 12:23 PM Report Posted March 14, 2006 at 12:23 PM You could also try anmo (massage) - there are lots of places offering this and the masseurs i came across were very well trained and knowledgeable. Cost about rmb80 for an hour i think; some of bigger places have reductions for block bookings. Quote
Lena Posted May 13, 2006 at 02:43 PM Author Report Posted May 13, 2006 at 02:43 PM Thanks for the reply's. I'm currently getting anmore at the BLCU hospital each week. I was a little hesitant at first but it's a million times better already. I think it's even better than the physio at home. So thanks for the point in the right direction. Quote
doumeizhen Posted May 13, 2006 at 09:08 PM Report Posted May 13, 2006 at 09:08 PM Lena, I have the same problem, and remember how much pain I was in whilst in my studies in China. I was lucky to have a brilliantly gifted roommate whose father was a doctor and a chef, but not everyone is so lucky. Maybe you could share your experience with the doctor (locale, cost, etc) here for future generations of sore students. Quote

Do you guys know of any other places where a foreign physiotherapist like me can apply to? By the sounds of it..it is not easy finding a physiotherapist to help you...do u know of any ways I can advertise my services while I am there? If you have questions about anything..feel free to message me...I can offer some suggestions even though I am not there to assess the injury Carman Quote
English Erik Posted July 14, 2006 at 03:03 PM Report Posted July 14, 2006 at 03:03 PM Hey, I think the best place for a foreigner to apply to would be the International SOS clinic in Sanlitun near the embassies, a lot of the doctors etc are foreiners and judging by the prices they charge they must be paid well. I had to go there to get some physio last year when I was in Beijing doing wushu, the woman was english and everything went well, expensive, but i had insurance:wink: Quote
onebir Posted October 1, 2006 at 09:11 AM Report Posted October 1, 2006 at 09:11 AM I've been getting ultrasound and acupuncture at the sports injury clinic at the shichahai school (北京什刹海体校) on dianmen xi dajie (地安门西大街) just north of beihai park. Dr Ding there knows his stuff, speaks very good english, and has good tableside manner. His number's 13031199300 (& i did ask before putting it on here...) He's attached to the taekwondo team, and has to go with them when they compete, so best to give him a call before turning up. The clinic's diagonally to the right of the main gate (currently obscured by scaffolding though). Quote
enceeno Posted October 8, 2006 at 03:31 PM Report Posted October 8, 2006 at 03:31 PM Hi I currently work at the International SOS clinic now....I work as a physiotherapist there...if you have questions feel free to ask... Carman Quote

martymcfly Posted October 12, 2006 at 08:51 AM Report Posted October 12, 2006 at 08:51 AM Hi Carman, Wondering if I could find a time to speak to you about some physio I require. I don't want to waste time and money making appointments at hospitals if the physiotherapist does not specialise in what i require: I had shoulder stabilisation surgery 6 weeks ago and need further physio in order to restore full movement. If you are able to help, please email me at gordylunan@yahoo.co.uk to discuss. Many thanks, Gordon Quote
