The Naxi orchestra in Lijiang is a pretty famous group. They are from the Naxi ethnic minority. I used to own one of their CDs and enjoyed it though the songs start to sound the same to me after a while. Their CD is available in the US from HMV or Amazon:

There are so many types of Chinese traditional musical instruments such as Erhu, Pip, Guqin and Bamboo Flute.

In the Pipa field, I think Zhang Hongyan is among the best in today's China, following you could find the link to her own website, there some downloads are available.
