xiaojiang216 Posted March 29, 2006 at 04:19 AM Report Posted March 29, 2006 at 04:19 AM 大家好, My girlfriend showed me some art of Xu Bing. Has anyone heard of him? Before I saw this painting, I had not heard of him. He is from 重庆, and his art is unlike any that I have ever seen before. Check this one out: http://www.artbeatus.com/artists/XuBing/XB-019.jpg Can you read it? Select this white text to find out: Little Bo Peep has lost her Sheep and cannot tell where to find them Leave them alone and they will come home and bring their tails behind them Xu Bing Two Thousand and Two Quote

hbuchtel Posted March 29, 2006 at 09:49 AM Report Posted March 29, 2006 at 09:49 AM Nice! I have a good memory of seeing his "New English Calligraphy" exibition once. In the gallery show there were many letters from fans of his, all written in this way. That would be cool to learn . . . but regular characters are hard enough for me Henry Quote

Lu Posted March 29, 2006 at 04:35 PM Report Posted March 29, 2006 at 04:35 PM I love Xu Bing's work, his made-up characters were also very interesting. I like to make up characters myself, even before I knew of Xu Bing. Putting some radicals together and see what it looks like. I'm not the only one, see also this thread. Quote
