The top ten are: 1. Denmark 2. Canada 3. USA 4. Singapore 5. Hong Kong 6. Netherlands 7. Finland 8. UK 9. Switzerland 10. Ireland Denmark rose five notches from 2004 to overtake Netherlands as first among EU countries. Among Asian locales, Singapore and Hong Kong's ranks in 2005 remained unchanged from 2004. Eastern Europe and East Asia showed the biggest improvement from 2004 . Taiwan ranked 18th (an improvement of 2 notches from 2004), South Korea ranked 26th (improvement of 4 notches), Japan ranked 28th (decrease of 2 notches), China ranked 41st (improvement of 4 notches).
