stephanhodges Posted April 4, 2006 at 01:06 PM Report Posted April 4, 2006 at 01:06 PM I'm interested. If you need a web site to post it all, I can also provide that. However, posting it here would be better, unless Roddy doesn't have space. I know my audio files tend to about 30 mb per hour, but I record at high fidelity. Quote
student Posted April 4, 2006 at 03:52 PM Report Posted April 4, 2006 at 03:52 PM I'd be interested. Quote
Jackychina Posted April 5, 2006 at 01:25 AM Author Report Posted April 5, 2006 at 01:25 AM Here is the link for one song, try it and see if you like. Not enough space to send translation & teaching audio recording as I checked. Will see if I can send a clip to your email, not sure how big... http://219.72.128.8/mp3/dljyue.mp3 Quote
nubix Posted April 5, 2006 at 05:15 AM Report Posted April 5, 2006 at 05:15 AM Very nice voice and pleasant song. I looked up the lyrics on baidu and added some pinyin and machine translation (which will no doubt be not quite as accurate as you would have given Jacky ). I would also like to see some of your class materials so I apologise if I have jumped in too quick with my contribution below. 歌曲《 月 亮 代 表 我 的 心》 gēqū yuè liàng dài biǎo wǒ de xīn Song: The moon represents my heart 你 问 我 爱 你 有 多 深, nǐ wèn wǒ ài nǐ yǒu duō shēn You ask how deeply I love you, (我 爱 你 有 几分) wǒ ài nǐ yǒu jǐfēn (I love you to have somewhat) 我 的 情 也 真 wǒ de qíng yě zhēn My feeling is real too 我 的 爱 也 真 wǒ de ài yě zhēn My love is real too 月 亮 代 表 我 的 心 yuè liàng dài biǎo wǒ de xīn The moon represents my heart 你 问 我 爱 你 有 多 深 nǐ wèn wǒ ài nǐ yǒu duō shēn You ask how deeply I love you (我 爱 你 有 几 分) wǒ ài nǐ yǒu jǐ fēn (I love you to have somewhat) 我 的 情 不 变 wǒ de qíng bù biàn My feeling does not change 你 的 情 不 变 nǐ de qíng bù biàn Your feeling does not change 月 亮 代 表 我 的 心 yuè liàng dài biǎo wǒ de xīn The moon represents my heart 轻 轻 的 一 个 吻 qīng qīng de yī gè wěn A gentle kiss 已 经 打 动 我 的 心 yǐ jīng dǎ dòng wǒ de xīn Have already moved my heart 深 深 的 一 段 情 shēn shēn de yī duàn qíng A deep feeling 教 我 思 念 到 如 今 jiào wǒ sī niàn dào rú jīn Teach me how to miss it until nowadays 你 问 我 爱 你 有 多 深 nǐ wèn wǒ ài nǐ yǒu duō shēn You ask how deeply I love you 我 爱 你 有 几 分 wǒ ài nǐ yǒu jǐ fēn I love you for having it somewhat 你 去 想 一 想 nǐ qù xiǎng yī xiǎng You go to think 你 去 看 一 看 nǐ qù kàn yī kàn You go to see 月 亮 代 表 我 的 心 yuè liàng dài biǎo wǒ de xīn The moon represents my heart Quote
Roee Posted April 5, 2006 at 05:44 AM Report Posted April 5, 2006 at 05:44 AM Whie studying GuoYu in Taiwan, we had this audio room where we could listen while looking at text and repeat. Every sentence would be followed by a puase to allow ample time to repeat. I found this to be extremely useful. If I did this for two hours straight people would be shocked by how good my tones are (the effect would last for just a few hours . Anyhow, I'm looking for something similar on a CD using putonghua. Any ideas? Quote
kudra Posted April 6, 2006 at 05:31 AM Report Posted April 6, 2006 at 05:31 AM The link below has links to David and Helen mp3 files. If you have an mp3 player, like an ipod, it is pretty easy to click the pause if you have to. Also some of the tutorials at http://classes.yale.edu/chns130/ have text to go along with the mp3. Quote
Jackychina Posted April 8, 2006 at 04:52 AM Author Report Posted April 8, 2006 at 04:52 AM Hi Nubix, The translation is okay, If you are Chinese, this isn't good enough, as there are several mistakes, to list a few here : 1. Better be as follows: 深 深 的 一 段 情 shēn shēn de yī duàn qíng This love is so deep that (教) 我 思 念 到 如 今 jiào wǒ sī niàn dào rú jīn I still miss it up till now Explanation: "Jiao" doesn't mean "teach" here, It should be "叫" It means "let" or "make" here. Example: She made me very upset. Ta jiao wo hen sheng qi. 2. 你 去 看 一 看 nǐ qù kàn yī kàn Better be translated as: You can go have a look ( for yourself ) 3. 我 爱 你 有 几 分 wǒ ài nǐ yǒu jǐ fēn I love you for having it somewhat or I love you to have somewhat The above two translation you posted above is not good. This should be a question after the first question " You ask how deeply I love you, " It means: " You ask how deeply I love you, and how much I love you" ....................... There are other wordings can be better, but not so bad. Thanks for your hard work. JackyChina Toronto, Canada P.S.: I am planing for the next on line lesson as I received a dozen emails to learn Chinese songs in order to learn Chinese.... If anyone interested let me know, I can arrange for regular weekly lessons ... Cheers ! Jacky Quote
