Hi anyone here living in Changchun?

I have some random life questions...

In Japan we have some photo development places where you can bring in a CD of digital images and have them printed.

Do cities of Changchun's size usually offer this type of service?

I'll be bringing a digital camera, but I want to get some prints developed occasionally. Also I hear that it's extremely cheap to develop film in China... true?

You'll have no problem, there'll be a ton of photo places that will do this.

Been ages since I developed film, but it was 20-30Y last time I did it I think. You usually pay per print, rather than a flat rate, I think. Quality can be variable though.

Roddy is right. There are camera places everywhere. Developing film, repair, parts we have got it all. In fact, I have rarely seen a city with so many shops offering camera services as here.

Hey how about the small time crime rate?

For example if I bring over a bunch of gear like a laptop, digital camera, say a musical instrument, am I going to have to be paranoid to avoid them getting stolen?

Have any of you guys had things stolen while living in China?

I'm coming from Japan where crime is rare, so I may be a little soft.

Be careful with valuable possessions. A healthy dose of paranoia never hurt anyone

I always sleep with my laptop in my bed when I am on the nighttrain, for instance. Unlike in Japan, when you lose something in China it generally stays lost!
