A sort of similar sign in Germany means no vehicles carrying explosive goods are allowed to use this road.

That's the best idea I've heard so far. But why is it a car, not a truck or tanker? And why is the explosion on the roof of the car? Answers, folks, I need answers . . .

Wrong question. The correct question would be: why isn't it a tricycle?

As to the roof, I wouldn't find anything surprising about Chinese mounting highly explosive materials on the roof of their car.
