hardest listening test - news, movies, conversations?

For those who have a fairly advanced level of Chinese, I am curious what you all think is the hardest listening comprehension test for you all? movies? news? street conversations? I know that is a hard question since the news is hard probably because of the pace and street conversations are hard because of the colloquialisms and slang, but I wonder what everyone's opinion is.

I would say news because they use a lot of complex words that I am not familiar with.

In terms of listening to people on the street, I am sometimes able to eavesdrop on their conversation if it is nothing too in depth.

Hello abclearner,

I believe the hardest problem for me is the listening to comical television. One person gives their gigs, and the other's laugh. :)

I think TV episodes

they can really make the speech hard to understand because they know that the character subtitles will always be at the bottom of the screen and most people just read those anyway

Hard for who to understand? For most people or for you?

I'd say it's either news, or when two native speakers are quickly chatting with each other in slightly unstandard Putonghua.

The ones I've watched are always at a rather colloquial level in terms of vocabulary and usually spoken at a understandable speed (sometimes a bit slower than I'd like). But it depends on what type of shows you mean.

The news however uses less colloquial terms and the anchor speaks at a moderate to high speed.
