The internet doesn't get any less strange.

The above message does however include examples of the rarely seen (by me anyway) character made up of 女 and 尔 for 'you' used to refer to a female.

Actually it doesn't have to be 妳 or 她. We can use 你 and 他 to refer to a female.

He blows it at the end and reverts to the traditional "ni" after "panda kiki"

He could just ask us directly if any of us knows that girl, instead he wrote us a love letter/declaration. Too bad he's not a female :D or I would appreciate the letter more.

I saw it all the time in the subtitles of songs, on Channel V.

And although strictly spoken you can use 他 for a female, I do think it looks a bit strange.
