Near Bei Da apartments?

Hey guys,

This is a question for you Beijingers.

I will studying in Bei Da this sept. '06. In the meantime, I am in search of a clean and quiet place to live near Bei Da. I checked out 'Hua qing jia yuan,' altough amentities and conveniences are numerous, the area is too hectic and noisy for living in my opionion. With that, the location has too many koreans, no offense I am Korean-American but I need to concentrate on Learning Chinese culture/language while i'm here in China. I'm thinking more of a remote place yet at the same time not too far from campus (radius of a 10-15min. taxi ride). Does anyone know of such a location? My price range is up to $1000 or 8000rmb. I'd appreciate any feedback/opionions on good apts.

Please no realtors, just getting a general idea of good locations from the locals.

wow~~~.Last night,my roomie told me he have got a job offer in another place and would have to leave.And I was looking for another roomie.But I have found now.

I think you can conside the apts in Chuangchunyuan(畅春园),Furongli（芙蓉里）,Huixiuyuan（蔚秀园）,Yandongyuan（燕东园）, all of these places is near to PeKing University,maybe less than 10 minutes on foot. And I don't think 'Hua qing jia yuan' is a good choice.
