Walter Posted April 24, 2006 at 05:25 AM Report Posted April 24, 2006 at 05:25 AM We have developed a software program for practising how to recognise and write the characters and compounds covered by HSK Level A. The demo which covers the 1st 100-odd characters is free. It includes stroke order animation, Mandarin sound bites and English translation. Also, the program maintains a personal record of which characters / compounds you are having trouble with => you can focus on those. www.purplepanda.com.au Quote
Josh-J Posted April 24, 2006 at 02:28 PM Report Posted April 24, 2006 at 02:28 PM I'm downloading the demo now. Can you give any idea of how long it will be until the more advanced levels are available? edit: this does actually look pretty useful (although I've only looked at the writing practice so far). Its revealing how much I need to review my writing practice This particularly appeals to me because it uses HSK vocab. Quote
Walter Posted April 25, 2006 at 08:13 AM Author Report Posted April 25, 2006 at 08:13 AM We have the basic components for the other 3 levels already and just need to do some final development and testing. However, we have a number of other tools under development too, but not enough $$ to fund everything - thus we are waiting to see whether people find the Level A tool useful before we commit too much further $$ to the i-HSK suite. So if you like the tool, spread the word - please!! BTW - since you have downloaded the demo, I will be able to email you when the next modules are available. Quote
