crow610 Posted April 25, 2006 at 06:39 AM Author Report Posted April 25, 2006 at 06:39 AM So will they be doing the testing to see what level you belong in during the registration? If so then I should probably be there for registration. But either way, what's a few days anayways. Guess I'm just hesitant about leaving my family. Plus, this will be the longest I have lived out of the country. Thanks for the info! Quote
sissi Posted April 25, 2006 at 07:33 AM Report Posted April 25, 2006 at 07:33 AM So will they be doing the testing to see what level you belong in during the registration? No.The fresh need to register in time for it's the first time they come to the school, they have lots of stuff to get, such as dormitory key, flat card, meal card…etc.Except that, the fresh always know nothing about the school and will take some time to be familiar the new enviroment and each other. sissi Posted April 25, 2006 at 08:06 AM Report Posted April 25, 2006 at 08:06 AM I know lots of university have instrumental groups,so I bet the BNU should have one.Even not,you still can join one from another school. Most associations in the universities in Beijing have members from another schools. Zhende ma? Posted April 26, 2006 at 01:16 PM Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 01:16 PM Yeah, I would recommend getting there on the 7th. If memory serves me correctly (in other words I'm not sure), right after the opening ceremony is the placement test. You really should not miss this. Anyway, it is good to have a day or two to get oriented before classes start. Quote
crow610 Posted April 26, 2006 at 08:23 PM Author Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 08:23 PM I have my flight booked for the 2nd of September in order to give myself enough time to get situated. If I want to live with a native Chinese person, where would be the best place to look? Or can BNU offer me a dorm with a Chinese student. Quote
Zhende ma? Posted April 26, 2006 at 11:47 PM Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 11:47 PM Maybe BNU can arrange for you to live with a family. You would have to commute to school every day if you did that though. I don't know but doubt they would put you in the Chinese student dorms. Chinese undergrad dorms are usually 6-8 people in one room and are usually already situated by the time you arrive. Talk to them though and maybe they will help you with some options. Perhaps the faculty apartments or grad student dorms (2 per room) would work. Quote
