zenwizard Posted April 25, 2006 at 09:21 PM Report Posted April 25, 2006 at 09:21 PM If anyone would like to try the program I made for use in conjunction with the Pimsleur material, I put it on the web. It is basically a database, with the characters, pinyin and translation. It has a search capability and a testing function. I am still working on it. But I wouldn't mind comments or ideas to improve it's usefulness. Quote
stephanhodges Posted April 26, 2006 at 12:25 PM Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 12:25 PM Nice looking program. Seems like a nice starting design too. Why is "phrase" one of the structure options, but isn't in the combo box list? Suggest you put your URL on the help about page. Are you using the "5" in your tone annotation to mean no tone in the current situation, or always no tone? Do you distinguish the two cases? Could you explain your source location scheme? (The box to the right of "Source Pimsleur")? For example, on entry #33, I'm guessing that "I-04-1619" is Level 1, CD 4, ???) Also, CD4 of which course? All minor points, of course. Again, a very good start! Quote
zenwizard Posted April 26, 2006 at 03:20 PM Author Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 03:20 PM Thanks for the comments. I will fix the problem you mentioned. Regarding the use of 5 for neutral tones, I did not know there was a difference between current situation vs. always no tone. I thought words with a neutral tone were always neutral. I still have alot of learning to do. As for the Source, "I-04-1619", would represent "Pimsluer Course 1" - "Lesson 4" - "16Minutes&19Seconds". I had hoped to set something up so I can play a particular part of the course with the push of a button. For that I need the exact point on the audio. Again, thanks, I appreciate your input. Quote
afriday11 Posted November 11, 2007 at 12:53 PM Report Posted November 11, 2007 at 12:53 PM Hey, I tried your site and it couldn't be found. Is it still up there, or did it get pulled off? Thanks Quote
