yonitabonita Posted April 26, 2006 at 10:43 AM Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 10:43 AM Hi folks, Quick question here. Whenever I go to newsinchinese.com to read the news, I find that only the first two articles have English popup explanations when I move my cursor to particular words. The articles below won't show any English. Can anyone enlighten me on what I'm doing wrong? I'm only a newbie. Thanks, Y Quote
roddy Posted April 26, 2006 at 12:25 PM Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 12:25 PM Your computer's broken More seriously, you should be seeing pop-ups on all articles. What internet browser and operating system are you using? Quote
horas Posted April 26, 2006 at 01:21 PM Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 01:21 PM What internet browser and operating system are you using? * More important perhaps: With what bitrate speed is she surfing? Quote
trevelyan Posted April 26, 2006 at 03:52 PM Report Posted April 26, 2006 at 03:52 PM Just a guess, but it sounds like the CSS support in whatever browser you are using is having trouble placing the popup in view once the screen has scrolled down (possibly positioning it off-screen). If this is the case, there's no solution save using a more standards compliant browser. In the meantime, it should be possible to read any particular article by opening it in a new window though (clicking on "more" will load the article in question and position the text at the top of the page). malinuo Posted April 27, 2006 at 06:13 AM Report Posted April 27, 2006 at 06:13 AM You are probably using Safari on MacOS X. Try it with Firefox or Camino from http://www.chinese-forums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 instead. NewsinChinese has its own forum at http://www.chinese-forums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 . Quote
